A write-up about my experience as Business analyst at acorn insurance. Assisting in building their CRM system that serviced over 800,000 customers using ICE insureTechs system.
During my time at Acorn as a Business Analyst, I had the opportunity to contribute to the design and development of the company’s CRM system. Working closely within a cross-functional team, I gained valuable experience applying Agile methodologies — participating in daily stand-ups, sprint planning, and retrospectives to deliver iterative improvements. It was a highly rewarding experience that deepened my understanding of collaborative development, data-driven decision-making, and the impact of well-structured teamwork.
I also worked extensively with Azure DevOps to manage project delivery, creating and structuring Epics, Features, and Product Backlog Items (PBIs) to align with business objectives. I was responsible for assigning tasks, refining user stories, and ensuring each item had clear acceptance criteria for the QA and development teams. This experience strengthened my ability to translate business requirements into actionable deliverables while maintaining visibility and accountability across sprints.
Alongside my project work, I developed strong process mapping skills by learning Business Process Model and Notation (BPMN). Through hands-on exercises and formal training, I earned a certification from Udemy, which helped me model workflows and visualize system processes more effectively. This skill proved valuable in improving communication between stakeholders and in documenting business requirements with greater clarity and precision.
